When I was little I saw you in the Zoo,
You “smiled” to say “how do you do?”,
You were tall, And also small,
Bald, and furry too,
When I was little I saw you in the Zoo.
When I was an adult I saw you in the Safari Park,
You ran free from dawn until dark,
You were striped and spotted too,
I was allowed to photograph you,
Yet your smile was hard to see,
When I was an adult had you forgotten me ?.
Now I am old and going grey,
I’m looking around,and I’m sorry to say -,
Will I ever see you again?,
Did the poachers ever refrain?,
You were all my pets you see,
You meant the World to me.
Will I ever see you again ? Do not let this happen to our wonderful world.
